Malarkey Roofing Shingles for DFW Homes
Rubberized asphalt shingles built for North Texas weather—with impact-resistant options, stronger tear resistance and sustainable roofing technology.
Why Malarkey?
A Different Kind of Asphalt Shingle
Malarkey shingles are made with NEX Polymer Modified Rubberized Asphalt instead of relying only on conventional oxidized asphalt.
The rubberized asphalt technology is designed to improve flexibility, tear strength, granule adhesion and all-weather performance. This makes Malarkey a strong roofing option for DFW homes exposed to hail, high winds, extreme heat and temperature changes.
Greenleaf Roofing is a Malarkey Certified Contractor serving homeowners throughout Dallas-Fort Worth.
What Makes Malarkey Different?
Rubberized Asphalt and Advanced Roofing Granules
NEX Rubberized Asphalt
Malarkey combines asphalt with synthetic and upcycled rubber and plastic polymers. This creates a more flexible shingle designed to resist tearing, cracking and impact.
Impact-Resistant Options
Malarkey offers both Class 3 and Class 4 impact-rated shingles. Class 4 is the highest rating in commonly used shingle-impact testing.
No shingle should be described as hail-proof. Damage remains possible depending on hail size, wind speed, roof condition and other factors.
Improved Granule Adhesion
Roofing granules protect the asphalt from UV exposure. Malarkey reports up to 65% greater granule adhesion than the ASTM D3462 industry standard on certain products.
Smog-Reducing Granules
All current Malarkey shingles include 3M Smog-Reducing Granules. Sunlight activates the granules, helping convert certain airborne emission pollutants into water-soluble ions that wash away with rain.
Upcycled Materials
Malarkey incorporates upcycled rubber and plastic into its shingles. For an approximately 30-square roof, Malarkey estimates its shingles can divert the equivalent of about five tires and 3,200 plastic bags from landfills. The exact environmental offset varies by product and roof size.

Malarkey Shingle Questions
Some carriers may offer discounts for qualifying impact-resistant shingles. Discounts vary by carrier and policy and must be confirmed directly with the homeowner's insurance agent or carrier.
No. Class 3 and Class 4 ratings indicate tested impact resistance, but no asphalt shingle is immune to damage from every hailstorm.
Both carry Class 4 impact ratings. Legacy is thicker, has higher published tear strength, a longer standard non-prorated warranty period and enhanced Scotchgard algae protection.
Windsor Scotchgard is Malarkey's premium designer shingle. It provides greater thickness, a cedar-shake-inspired appearance and an enhanced wind warranty of up to 140 mph when all requirements are satisfied.
The warranty depends on the shingle, accessories, contractor certification, installation and registration. Greenleaf will identify the exact warranty in the roofing proposal.
